Tiptoe through a pyramid, grab scarabs and avoid waking the mummy.
Who it's for
Parents and kids around seven who like a bit of dexterity and gentle spookiness. A cheerful pick for short family play.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want depth or strategy. This is a simple children's game, and adults may tire of it quickly.
Vibe's take
Light, spooky-silly and full of held breath. The tension comes from steady hands and the fear of being sent back to the start. Kids giggle when someone wakes the mummy.
Pharaoh's Gulo Gulo is a children's adventure set in a pyramid where an angry mummy guards stolen scarab beetles. It reimplements the 2003 game Gulo Gulo. You build a modular board of desert and pyramid corridors, then sneak through to collect the precious scarabs and reach the burial chamber without waking the mummy. Hurry carelessly and the mummy catches you, sending you right back to the entrance. It mixes careful, quiet moves with a dexterity thrill, and the spooky theme is gentle enough for small kids. Adults can join in too, though the fun is mostly in watching little ones tiptoe past the mummy. A short game, ideal around seven years and up.
