Name something from the picture before the bomb goes off in your hands.
Who it's for
You have a roomful of kids around seven who need a loud, quick game with no reading. Also good at family gatherings where age ranges are wide.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a challenge for adults. This is the kids' edition, and the easy topics will bore a group of grown-up word nerds.
Vibe's take
Loud, giggly and fast. Everybody shouts words while the clock runs, and the panic of holding the bomb is half the fun.
Pass the Bomb Junior is a word-association game with a time bomb, built for younger players. You draw a picture card with a familiar scene, say a beach, and name something you might find there: a sandcastle, a bucket, a whale if you feel bold. Then the bomb moves on to the next player, who must name something else before it goes off. It explodes after a random interval, so nobody knows who will get caught, and whoever has no answer when it blows loses the round. Pictures instead of written words keep it friendly for kids from seven, and adults get dragged in happily, because the panic is real even when the topic is easy. Up to twelve can play at once.
