Charades and clue-giving with picture cards instead of words, so non-readers join the fun.
Who it's for
Families with young kids, from around four, who want a party game the whole table can play together. Also handy for a bigger group where nobody can read in the same language.
Not for you ifβ¦
Your group is all adults who want trickier word clues. The pictures are friendly, so it plays gentler than the original Time's Up!
Vibe's take
Loud, quick and silly. Kids love acting out animals, adults love the second round when the same pictures return and everyone remembers them. Turns are short so nobody waits long.
Time's Up! Kids takes the charades-meets-guessing party game and swaps every word for a picture, so kids who can't read yet can play right alongside adults. You split into teams, one person at a time gives clues for as many cards as possible before the timer runs out, and teammates shout guesses. Round one lets you talk freely about the picture. Round two uses the very same cards, but now you can only mime. By then everybody remembers every card, which is where the giggles come in. It's a short, silly team game that works for a living room full of mixed ages, and grown-ups will be surprised by how fast they need to describe a drawing of a hedgehog.
