Roll dice, grab a pencil and draw the most impressive castle in the kingdom.
Who it's for
You have kids who like drawing and want a game that lets them doodle. Good for a rainy afternoon with pencils and a few dice.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want deep strategy or interaction between players. Everyone draws on their own sheet, and decisions stay small.
Vibe's take
Relaxed and creative: you scribble towers, groan at a bad roll and compare finished castles at the end. Not much conflict, a lot of doodling.
Once Upon a Castle lets everyone draw their dream fortress: battlements, towers, a comfortable dungeon for passing guests. The goal is the most prestigious castle in the kingdom, built from whatever resources the dice hand out. You roll, pick, and draw the pieces onto your own sheet, so the whole table ends up with sketches that look nothing alike. It is a roll-and-draw game for kids from six, with a short running time and a pencil-and-paper feel that makes it a nice step up from pure dice rolling. Adults will enjoy the doodling, and children get to proudly show off their castle at the end.
