A cooperative picture-clue game with a traitor in the library.
Who it's for
Your group loves Dixit-style imagery and a dash of social deduction, and you play with five to eight people. Good for talkative friends.
Not for you ifβ¦
Only two or three of you are playing, or you dislike hidden-traitor tension. It is best with a bigger group.
Vibe's take
Whispery and suspicious, with long silences broken by sudden arguments about what a drawing really meant. Everyone is slightly paranoid and having a great time.
Obscurio is a cooperative game of dreamy pictures, a hidden traitor and a library that does not want to let you out. One player is the Grimoire, who knows the way and can only guide the team by pointing at details on illustrated cards. The rest of you read those hints, pick your way to the exit and avoid the wrong doors, while one of you is secretly working for the Sorcerer and trying to lead the others astray. Traps along the route make communication harder. It sits between Dixit-style picture clues and a hidden-role game, and the best moments are when the group says, wait, was that hint a trap? Plays up to eight.
