Build a Victorian mansion room by room and find the real treasure before anyone else does.
Who it's for
Your kids are around eight and like treasure hunts, and you do not mind sitting down for a longer, wandering search game. A nice pick if you remember mystery-house games from the eighties.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a tight modern deduction puzzle. Here the clue-finding depends a lot on cards and die rolls, and a game can run about ninety minutes.
Vibe's take
A cozy search game where the house grows under your hands and every new door is a small gamble. The tension comes from matching cards and uncovering clues.
A Victorian mansion that you build as you go, while hunting for the real treasure inside. Each turn a special die decides where a new room gets attached, and every room is full of objects that could be hiding clues. Your hand holds search cards, and the trick is to add rooms containing objects that match them. Land your pawn in a room with a match, play the card, draw a clue, and you might find a treasure chest, a key to one, or something less thrilling. It is part deduction, part treasure hunt, part architecture, and the layout is different every time because you are the ones laying it out. Aimed at kids around eight and up, though adults can follow the clues too.
