Hunt the killer in Manhattan or hide as him in a tense two-player deduction duel.
Who it's for
Couples or friends who want a clever two-player game with hidden information and a noir mood. Switch sides after the first round.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want something relaxed with more than two players. It is strictly a duel and the deduction can be punishing if you are tired.
Vibe's take
Cat-and-mouse tension with a puzzly edge. Both players are reading each other's moves, so one tiny slip can give the whole game away.
A two-player cat-and-mouse deduction duel set in Manhattan, a stand-alone twist on Mr. Jack. One of you is Mr. Jack, hiding in plain sight among eight suspects. The other is the detective, trying to work out which character the killer is. You alternate moving suspects using shared action tokens, and what you can see from gaslight-lit streets gives away clues. In New York, gaslights and manholes can be moved, the surrounding water matters for Jack's escape, and a police spy offers extra information. It is a bit more strategic and layered than the original, but still a quick, tense game that you can play twice in a row with switched roles.
