Build a silly plastic trap piece by piece, then try to catch your rivals' mice in it.
Who it's for
Your kids love gadgets, noise, and building things, and you do not mind a luck-heavy classic.
Not for you if…
You want strategy or a smooth, fast game. The trap does not always work, and the long setup for a short payoff can drag.
Vibe's take
Mostly an excuse to build a ridiculous machine and watch it clatter. The board game underneath is simple and luck-driven, but the trap gives the table a moment of drama.
You are a mouse, and you are walking into a trap that you build yourself. Each turn you move your mouse around the board and, in doing so, you assemble a Rube Goldberg style contraption piece by piece: a crank, a boot, a ball rolling down stairs, a cage. You collect cheese cards, which let you move other players' mice to the cheese wheel, the bait. Once the trap is complete, you can try to capture a rival mouse by turning the crank and hoping the whole thing works. The last mouse left wins. This page covers the classic 1963 versions with the bathtub piece, and the plastic gadgetry is the star.
