Who it's for

Fans of hand management games who enjoy a clean, inverted scoring twist that rewards careful restraint.

Not for you if…

You prefer games where playing your strongest cards is always good β€” here, timing and restraint matter more than raw power.

Vibe's take

Quietly tense β€” since low score wins, every strong card becomes a liability as much as an asset, forcing constant second-guessing.

About this game

Meister Makatsu is a hand management card game about timing your best cards for maximum effect. Each player works from their own deck of 24 cards, numbered 1 to 8 across three colors, trying to win individual suit contests across three rounds β€” but every card you play is gone for good, while unplayed cards cycle back for later rounds. The twist is that low is the goal: whoever ends with the fewest points after three rounds wins, so playing your strongest cards too eagerly can backfire.
