Who it's for

Parents who want a first cooperative game around age four to seven, especially where losing a competitive race ends in tears. Works with one adult and one child.

Not for you if…

An adult can easily steer the whole group and take the decisions away from the kids, which hollows out the point of it. The dice can also make a round unwinnable early on, and the components look their age.

Vibe's take

Genuinely tense for small children, because Max gains ground every single turn and you can see it happening. The talking-it-through part is the actual game.

About this game

The tomcat Max is stalking a bird, a mouse and a chipmunk, and the whole table works together to get all three animals safely home to their tree. Two dice with black and green pips decide the pace: black pips move Max, green pips get shared out among the three small animals by group decision. Four cat treats can lure Max back to the start, but once they are gone, they are gone.
