Build a noble dynasty in 1729 France through marriages, titles and mansions.
Who it's for
You like tableau and worker-placement games with a historical flavor and want something around an hour. Also good for solo players.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want lots of direct interaction or a game with big surprises. Most of the tension is quiet, long-term planning.
Vibe's take
Calm, thoughtful and satisfyingly puzzly. You mostly watch your own family grow and react to a few clever steals from the table.
France, 1729: you head a noble house on the eve of change and want it to be strong when the old order shakes. Your family is a growing tableau of cards. You marry off sons and daughters, absorb smaller families, win titles, build mansions and cultivate friends at court. Each round you send out different kinds of workers to claim spots, draft cards and collect sets that pay off at the end. It is a tidy tableau-and-worker-placement game that plays in about an hour and also works as a solo puzzle. If you like building a little empire and seeing your choices pay off over decades, this has that feel.
