Pan for gold with a real sieve, while everyone bets on how it turns out.
Who it's for
Families with children from six who want a hands-on game with a bit of bluff. Good for short rounds with four.
Not for you ifβ¦
You are after depth or heavy strategy. The result comes from luck and dexterity, and the bluffing stays at a simple level.
Vibe's take
Tactile, silly, and full of poker faces. Kids love shaking the sieve, and the betting turns a dexterity game into a small bluffing duel.
Klondike is a gold-panning game with a real sieve. On your turn you draw three wooden marbles from a bag, gravel in black and gray, nuggets in yellow, and drop them onto a round aluminum plate with holes, the riddle. You shake and see what's left, and everyone else bets on the outcome before you do. Bluffing is part of it, since the bets turn every shake into a small poker moment. It is a short game for six and up, mixing a little dexterity with a lot of poker face. Basic and advanced rules let it stretch from a first game for kids to something with more bluff.
