Who it's for

Two-player strategy fans who love asymmetric design and want a tactical card-driven conflict with real solo-play support.

Not for you if…

If you want a game for groups larger than two or prefer symmetric factions where both sides play by the same rules, Ironwood is built specifically around the opposite.

Vibe's take

Tense and card-efficient β€” with every card pulling double duty as an action or combat value, hand management becomes the whole game, and the asymmetry means you're never playing the mirror match.

About this game

Ironwood pits two wholly asymmetric factions against each other in an eternal fight for control of a land hiding a mysterious, energy-rich crystal. As the Ironclad, you extract crystals to fuel forges and build unstoppable armies; as the Woodwalkers, you use the same crystals' raw magic to recover three ancient totems and summon a guardian spirit. Every card in your hand does double duty, serving as both an action and, in combat, a combat value β€” and each faction wins by completely different means.
