Build your own Japanese map from cards and fight for the right to pick first.
Who it's for
You like solitaire-style layout puzzles with a little interaction, and you want something compact for two to five with a Japanese theme.
Not for you if…
You want direct conflict. Everyone builds their own map, so you only interfere through the draft order.
Vibe's take
Calm and puzzly, with a sneaky twist from the trick that decides who picks first. You often end up sacrificing a good card to get a better place in line.
In Honshu you are a noble of feudal Japan building your own little map, one card at a time. Each round is a quick trick: everyone plays a map card, the highest one gets first pick of the cards played, and the others follow. Then you lay your chosen card over your map, covering something and uncovering something else, with an eye on what will score at the end. Twelve rounds, two phases each. The sneaky bit is that being first in line is a double-edged blessing, so you play with turn order as a weapon. Quick, tidy, and a satisfying little puzzle in a deck of cards.
