A ghost slips unseen through the castle while the hunters work out where he is hiding.
Who it's for
Families with children from eight who like blending hide-and-seek with deduction. Also nice for parents who would rather hunt together than play against each other.
Not for you if…
You want speed or lots of dice luck. The game lives on thinking, and whoever plays the ghost must be careful about writing down every move.
Vibe's take
Tense and a little spooky when Max vanishes, with quiet triumph when the hunters reconstruct his route. Whoever plays the ghost gets to enjoy being the sly one.
Ghost Chase is a hide-and-seek in a haunted castle, played on a board. One player is Max the ghost, who sneaks from room to room and notes his route in secret. Everyone else chases him as a team, moving openly through the castle. Max has a code of honor: he never enters the same room twice, though his hunters can revisit rooms as often as they like. Each round one animal is removed from the board, and when the last of a type disappears, Max must reveal where he is and how he got there. Then the chasers use that information to corner him. It is a pleasant deduction game for children and a good cooperative hunt for adults who like tracking clues.
