A two-player duel in the Roaring Twenties where each move leaves your rival fewer choices.
Who it's for
You want a clever two-player game with a literary theme, and enjoy outwitting one opponent. Good for couples who like head-to-head puzzles.
Not for you ifβ¦
You need a game for three or more, or want a relaxed, forgiving one. It is a two-player duel with real sharpness.
Vibe's take
Tight and tricky. You steal the opponent's best option by where you leave the action marker, and think two moves ahead. Short but cerebral, with some sharp swings.
A two-player duel in the Roaring Twenties, inspired by Fitzgerald's novel. One of you is Dorothy Williams, the other James Miller, and you both want the attention of the great Jay Gatsby. Three places on the board (the cabaret, the finance center and the racetrack) offer different character tiles. Each turn you move the shared action marker to one of four action spaces, but never onto the one your opponent just used, and then do that action. Placing influence tokens lets you claim characters in different ways at each place. About 30 minutes of tense back-and-forth with some sudden-death danger, ages 10 and up.
