A sinking island, four treasures and a team that has to think as one before the water wins.
Who it's for
New co-op players, families with older kids and anyone who wants a gateway game that still delivers real decisions.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a game with zero randomness or a long, meaty campaign, because this is short, light and card-luck matters.
Vibe's take
cooperative, tense, breezy, teachable, adventurous
Forbidden Island drops your team on a sinking landmass built from a stack of gorgeous tiles, and yours is the only job: grab four ancient treasures before the water swallows everything. Every round the tide claims more ground, tiles flip from wet to gone, and your crew has to decide together which chunk of island is worth saving right now. Roles hand out different powers, so a Diver can slip through flooded tiles while an Engineer plugs two leaks at once. It plays fast, teaches in five minutes, and still finds ways to make the last treasure feel genuinely tense. A perfect first step into cooperative gaming, tin box included.
