Put contracts on rival gangsters and hope your family outlasts the mob war.
Who it's for
You like short, mean card games with player-versus-player grudges and a gangster theme. Best with five or six.
Not for you ifβ¦
You hate being ganged up on or eliminated early. A target on your back can be a long wait.
Vibe's take
Loud, mean and quick, with a lot of revenge. Whether it feels fair or ruthless depends on how the table treats the weakest family.
Mob warfare for a table of backstabbers. Each of you runs a family of nine gangsters, and the game is about quietly slipping contracts onto everyone else's. Play a contract on someone's gangster, and unless somebody blocks it, he goes on the hitlist. Once six names are on it, a mob war breaks out: at the start of every turn, the first name on the list is eliminated, until the list is empty. The last family standing wins. It's easy to gang up on one unlucky player, or to spread the pain around, and which one happens is up to the table's mood. Fast, loud, and nasty in the best way, with a vendetta or two guaranteed.
