Explore a dangerous Dark Souls world together, manage stamina, and try to survive the bosses.
Who it's for
You love the video game or hard cooperative miniatures games and are ready to lose a few times. Best with two.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a gentle or short game. It is brutally hard, lengthy, and punishes careless play.
Vibe's take
Tense, grim and rewarding. Every step feels risky, every fight demands careful stamina planning, and a win comes after repeated defeat.
Prepare to die, together. Dark Souls: The Board Game is a brutally hard cooperative exploration game with miniatures, built on the same punishing spirit as the video game. Setup is quick, but the world reveals itself slowly as you explore: new locations appear, and with them monsters that act according to a behavior system, so no two encounters feel the same. Combat is all about managing stamina and picking your moment. There are boss and mini-boss fights, including Ornstein and Smough. It is a heavy, long and demanding game, best with two players, from one to four, for fans of the series.
