Build monsters from bear parts and survive the invasion of horrible babies.
Who it's for
You want a short, silly card game for a group of four that enjoys a bit of mean teasing. Kids around seven can join.
Not for you ifβ¦
You expect depth or fairness. Player elimination, luck, and take-that make it more of a joke than a strategy game, and the BGG crowd rates it modestly.
Vibe's take
Quick, goofy, and a little chaotic: you push your luck on the next draw, then watch the babies attack and groan when your monster falls apart. Lightweight with a lot of laughs.
Bears vs Babies is a card game where you build ridiculous monsters from bear parts and other body bits, then see whether they survive the invasion of horrible babies. All players draw from a shared deck: draw a part and it goes onto your monster, draw a baby and it goes to the middle of the table. When the babies get provoked they attack, and everyone with fewer monster parts than attacking babies loses their monster, while those with more score. It is silly, mean, and quick, with plenty of take-that moments. Honest warning: the BGG crowd rates it modestly, so treat it as a laugh rather than a masterpiece.
