Build the tallest temples in the ancient world, and wreck your rival's tribes along the way.
Who it's for
Two people who like card-driven duels with a bit of cruelty and a historical flavor. A fine option for couples who enjoy head-to-head puzzles.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a relaxed or cooperative game. It is a competitive duel in which you will lose your tribesmen and temples.
Vibe's take
Sharp and mean: every card can move you, build for you or damage your rival, so every choice has a cost. Good players read the opponent's hand and swing the balance in a turn.
Babel is a two-player card duel set in the ancient Near East, where two builders race to raise the tallest temples. The small board shows the regions of five old civilizations, the Medes, Sumerians, Hittites, Persians and Assyrians, and your hand holds cards of those tribes. You move your stone figure by discarding a card, place tribesmen in the region you stand in, and build a temple when you have enough workers. You can also steal your rival's workforce, destroy their temples or take them for yourself. Cards do double duty, so every choice costs you something. It is a tight, mean little duel with a clear goal: be the one with the tallest tower.
