Season your dish by tipping out wooden pellets without over-spicing, and steal recipes from rival cooks.
Who it's for
You enjoy dexterity and tactile games with a goofy kitchen theme, a quick half-hour, and a small group. Best with four.
Not for you if…
You want a serious cooking strategy or dislike dexterity games. It is luck, nerves and a steady hand.
Vibe's take
Silly, tactile and a little tense, with the whole table groaning when the pellets fall wrong. It's more about nerve and a steady hand than long-term planning.
Cooking as a dexterity stunt. Each cook gets a tiny pan and a hotplate, and on your turn you can turn up the heat, season your dish, or steal another cook's recipe in progress. Heat comes from a die, so a lucky roll may warm everyone's plate at once. The seasoning is the heart of it: you tip small bottles of colored wooden pellets upside down and hope that just the right number tumbles out, no more than two, because over-seasoning ruins the dish and into the bin it goes. It's silly, tactile and a little tense, and a very delicate touch pays off when you're a mad chef. The 2009 edition adds new recipes and tweaks the rules.
