A fantasy skirmish where each faction's own card deck decides how its miniatures fight.
Who it's for
You want a miniatures skirmish with cards instead of a fat rulebook. Good for four players who like tactical bluffing.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a story-driven campaign or deep customisation. This is a tight skirmish, not a sprawling war game.
Vibe's take
Tactical and tricky: you juggle a hand of cards while guessing what your opponents hide. Fights feel quick and decisive, with room for clever interrupts.
Wildlands is a fantasy skirmish game from Martin Wallace, set in a kingdom that fell when its capital did. Two to four players each lead a rival faction with its own deck of cards that shapes how its warriors fight: some shoot from range, some rely on brute strength, others on the bond between their characters. You play cards, move your miniatures across the battlefield and try to outmanoeuvre the others. Its sweet spot is the middle ground between a light miniatures game and a full tabletop war. A game takes around an hour, and the different factions give it a lot of variety from one round to the next.
