Build a village, hire adventurers and follow rivals' actions to be crowned Valeria's next capital.
Who it's for
You like a light-to-medium tableau builder with little waiting. Best with three players who enjoy tinkering with card combos.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want lots of direct conflict or a heavy engine. It is a tidy card game and very little gets in your way.
Vibe's take
Brisk and satisfying, with little downtime because everybody acts on every turn. Your village grows card by card, and you feel clever when a follow action fits your plan.
Villages of Valeria is a fantasy card game about growing a village into the next capital. Each turn the active player picks one of five actions: tax for gold and a card, harvest for a big draw, develop a resource, build a building, or recruit an adventurer. The clever part is that everyone else may follow that action too, just with a smaller reward. So you always get something, even on a rival's turn, and you watch closely what the table is doing. Cards double as resources and buildings, which makes every one a small decision about what to keep. It plays fast, can be played solo, and feels like a village-sim you can finish in an hour.
