A cartoon escape room in a deck of cards: find your way out of the trap before Professor Noside wins.
Who it's for
You want an escape game that feels playful rather than spooky and does not destroy the components. Great for two or three people with a phone or tablet nearby.
Not for you if…
You prefer to play without a screen on the table, or you want a very hard challenge. Also skip it if you dislike time pressure.
Vibe's take
Fast, chatty and a little frantic, since the app timer keeps ticking in the background. Cards fly across the table, someone always shouts that they found a number, and the silly cartoon art keeps the mood light even when the clock gets tight.
Unlock! squeezes an escape room into a deck of cards. You turn cards over, search scenes, combine objects by matching numbers and solve riddles, while a free companion app keeps the clock running, checks codes and hands out hints when you are stuck. Squeek & Sausage is the cartoon entry of the series: mad Professor Noside has caught you in a trap, and you have to find a way out before he wrecks the world. The tone is goofy rather than spooky, a pleasant change from haunted-mansion settings. A ten-card tutorial teaches the system without a rulebook. Up to six can join, but two or three people muttering over the same card is where it shines.
