Deck building meets turf war: lead a Drow house through intrigue and ambushes.
Who it's for
Fans of Dominion-style deck building who also like Risk-style fights over a map. Brilliant if your group enjoys scheming.
Not for you ifβ¦
You dislike direct conflict. Your troops will be assassinated and your cities taken, so it is not for those who get upset about backstabbing.
Vibe's take
Sharp-elbowed and scheming: every card you buy changes how your house fights. You will plot, stab someone, and grin about it, because the game practically begs for it.
Tyrants of the Underdark drops you into the Drow city below the Sword Coast as the head of a scheming house. Your house is a deck of cards, each card a minion with one of five aspects: malice excels at assassination, ambition at recruiting and promoting minions to your inner circle. Two half-decks of Drow, Dragons, Demons, or Elementals are shuffled into an 80-card deck, so every game plays a bit differently. You buy new minions from a central market with influence, then use them to deploy troops and fight for territory on the map. It is a mix of deck building and area control with backstabbing, played by two to four, best at four.
