Poker meets worker placement in a Wild West boomtown where bluffing wins the best spots.
Who it's for
You like worker placement and a hint of bluffing, and enjoy a Wild West theme. Best with four players, when the bluffing gets lively.
Not for you ifβ¦
You dislike poker rules or bluffing. The hand rankings need some memory, and luck can sway a round.
Vibe's take
Cheeky and tense. You place your posse, squint at the poker hands and try to guess who is bluffing. It feels a bit like a saloon table with a plan.
Tiny Epic Western pitches itself as poker meets worker placement, and it is as odd and fun as that sounds. Boomtowns are laid out in a circle, and each round poker cards are dealt between the locations. You place posse members on location cards, which gives you an action and counts as a bid for valuable resources. You also hold a poker card of your own that combines with the two neighbouring cards to form a hand, so bluffing and reading rivals pay off. Law, Money and Force are the influence you chase, and claiming buildings unlocks strong abilities. It fits in a small box, plays solo or with up to four, and feels like a western with a bit of a swagger.
