Carry the Ring through four famous battles as a team of hobbits, and try not to be corrupted on the way.
Who it's for
You and your friends love Middle-earth and want a tough co-op where you fight the game instead of each other. Good for four, who can share the burden.
Not for you if…
You dislike losing to a game or prefer competitive play. It is hard, and the quest cards sometimes leave you with the wrong hand.
Vibe's take
Tense and cooperative, with the sense that everyone is stretched thin and the dark is closing in. You work out together who can afford to take the hit, and winning feels earned.
In The Lord of the Rings you and your friends are the hobbits of the Fellowship, working together to carry the Ring to Mordor while Sauron's corruption creeps over everyone. Each hobbit has a unique power. The journey runs through four boards, Moria, Helm's Deep, Shelob's Lair and Mordor, and on each you play quest cards to push along tracks for fighting, hiding, traveling and friendship. The main board shows how far the Fellowship has come and how close each hobbit is to falling under the Ring's spell. It is a tense, shared struggle, and winning feels earned. Fans of the books will recognize the places, and the game is hard.
