Hunters and lumberjacks against foxes and bears, in a forest that reveals itself tile by tile.
Who it's for
Two people, one of them a nature fan, who want an asymmetric duel with a cute theme. A good pick for a child and a parent.
Not for you if…
You want deep strategy or lots of players. It is a light two-player skirmish and an old design.
Vibe's take
A quick, tactical chase where the forest surprises you as tiles turn over. Early moves are about luck, the late game about careful hunting.
Tally Ho! is a two-player hunt in a forest: one of you plays the hunters and lumberjacks, the other plays the foxes and bears, and both sides hunt each other. The forest begins quiet under face-down tiles. As you flip them and move them around, the peace breaks. Lumberjacks cut paths through the trees that give the hunters shooting lanes, but bears use the same paths to track the hunters and lumberjacks. Both sides can also hunt the ducks, who just want to live in peace. Luck matters in the early game, and skill takes over at the end. Originally published in 1973 as Jag und Schlag.
