A citywide cat-and-mouse chase where one player hides across London and a team hunts by deduction alone.
Who it's for
Groups who love a tense hidden-movement chase and enjoy talking through clues together as a detective team.
Not for you ifβ¦
You dislike asymmetric games or long stretches of deduction, since half the table hunts while one player hides.
Vibe's take
tense, cerebral, cooperative-against-one, thrilling, classic
Scotland Yard drops one player into the shoes of the elusive Mr. X, dodging a whole team of detectives across a map of London using taxis, buses, and the underground. Mr. X moves in secret, only occasionally forced to reveal a location, so the detectives spend the whole game piecing together scraps of movement into an actual chase. Playing Mr. X is a tense exercise in staying one step ahead through misdirection and nerve, while the detective team lives or dies by how well they talk through the clues together. Decades old and it still nails that cat-and-mouse thrill every single time.
