Swap cards into your rack until your numbers run in order from one to ten.
Who it's for
Families and friends who enjoy a classic number game that does not need much explaining. Good with kids around eight and adults who like a light card duel.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want deep decisions or a lot of interaction. Luck of the draw does a lot of the work.
Vibe's take
Easygoing and a little tense in the last turns, when you eye the discard pile and hope for exactly the card you need. Quiet tinkering with sudden outbursts of 'Rack-O!'
Rack-O is a classic card game from 1956 where you race to put ten numbered cards into the right order. Each player gets a plastic rack and cards dealt into the slots. On your turn you take the top card of the deck or the discard pile and swap it in, trying to build a rising sequence from slot one to slot ten. The catch is that you cannot see what the others are doing, so you gamble on when to keep a card and when to toss it. Whoever completes a valid sequence shouts Rack-O and scores points. Rounds continue until someone reaches the target score. It is a steady, friendly game that plays out over many rounds.
