Run a factory, bid for the best machines and keep the energy bill from eating your profit.
Who it's for
You like Power Grid's tension but want something shorter and more compact. Good with four players who enjoy optimizing a spreadsheet-like engine.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a theme with lots of color or direct conflict. The play is abstract, numerical and mostly about your own factory.
Vibe's take
Cool, calculating and quietly competitive. You spend most of the game running small numbers in your head, then sneak a smug smile when your efficient setup beats the flashy one.
A stand-alone spin-off from the Power Grid family, but this time you run a factory instead of a power network. You hire workers, buy the best machines and robots at a market, and then try to keep your factory running as profitably as possible. The catch is energy: pile up too many thirsty machines and your profit evaporates, so efficiency matters more than size. A clever bidding system for the market keeps the choices tense, and every purchase affects what your rivals can afford. It is a lean, economic puzzle for people who like to run numbers, with the same tidy cold-blooded feel as its famous cousin.
