Build a deck of your favorite Pokémon and battle another trainer in a card duel.
Who it's for
Kids and adults who already love the characters and want to battle with them, or families who want to ease a young player into deck building. Two-player only.
Not for you if…
You want a self-contained game with no ongoing purchases. Keeping a competitive deck means buying cards, and many players mostly collect and never battle.
Vibe's take
Brisk and busy. You juggle your hand, power up creatures, and watch a good combo come together, with a small thrill each time a favorite character hits the table.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game is a two-player duel where each of you plays a trainer sending creatures into battle. You build your own deck from your collection, bring out Pokémon, power them up, and knock out your rival's team. It is one of the longest-lived collectible card games, and for many people the cards are the main attraction, with collecting as much a part of the fun as playing. Starter decks get you into a match quickly, but building a sharper deck is where the depth shows up. A friendly way to introduce kids to card strategy, as long as everyone is happy with the cost of keeping up with new sets.
