Pandemic from the pathogen's side: you are a disease, and the rivals at the table want the same cities.
Who it's for
You know Pandemic and enjoy the reversed point of view. Works well with four or five who like competitive spread and mischief.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want the cooperative feel of the original, or the pandemic theme feels uncomfortable. This one is competitive and a bit cutthroat.
Vibe's take
Competitive, a bit macabre and quick. You take two actions, spread cubes and watch the map turn your color, while rivals spoil your plans with their own contagion. Dark humor fits the whole thing.
In Pandemic: Contagion you finally get to play the bug. After years of trying to defeat diseases in the original game, the tables are turned: you are a disease, there is no cure, and you are racing rival diseases to wipe out humanity first. On your turn you take two of three possible actions, play contagion cards to infect cities, and drop disease cubes across the map. Event and WHO cards stir up the mix. It is a quick, competitive card game for two to five with a darkly funny premise, where being the nastiest pathogen at the table is the goal.
