Rummy with a murder mystery twist: meld victims, suspects and evidence to convict the Ripper.
Who it's for
You like Rummy-style card games and a murder mystery mood, especially as a two-player evening. Plays up to four.
Not for you ifβ¦
You dislike the Jack the Ripper theme or want something that goes far beyond Rummy. The framework is familiar.
Vibe's take
Familiar rummy rhythm with a grim, theatrical edge. Mind games over whose suit gets blamed give each hand a small story.
Rummy with a murderer in the room. You play the usual melds, but instead of runs and sets they are victims, suspects, scenes of the crime, and evidence, all building a case against a suspect from the Whitechapel killings. When someone goes out, the suspect whose suit has the most cards played is the guilty one, and that suit's collector reaps the points. There's a neat twist: if all the Victim cards appear before the end of the game, the Ripper may slip away, handing a big point bonus to whoever played the last one. It's a classic card-melding game with some actual story to it, best as a close two-player duel.
