Send Martin the mammoth through the grass, remember where the building materials hide, and be first to repair three houses.
Who it's for
You play with a four- to six-year-old and want a memory game that has a goal instead of just matching pairs. Also good if you already own My First Stone Age.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want something that still challenges you after the first round. Adults will find the memory part undemanding and the decisions few.
Vibe's take
Gentle and a bit giggly: kids love turning cards over, adults quietly lose to the four-year-old with the better memory. The race is close enough to feel exciting without any real tension.
Martin the mammoth has a job to do: root through the tall grass and dig out the building materials your stone-age houses are missing. This card game version of My First Stone Age has you repairing houses with three different resources, and those resources lie hidden face-down in the grass. Memory carries a lot of the game: where did that wood go, and who just looked at the stone? The first player to finish three houses wins. It is made for kids from four, with short turns and a cheerful prehistoric look. You can play it on its own, or use it as an add-on if you already own the original My First Stone Age.
