Push a wobbly boat from port to port, load cargo and try not to drop any of it.
Who it's for
Kids around eight and the adults playing with them, who want a dexterity game that is funny rather than sweaty. Works for two or three, too.
Not for you if…
You want planning or strategy. It is a dexterity romp, and a shaky hand beats any clever idea.
Vibe's take
Giggly and tense at once: everyone holds their breath as the boat wobbles, then groans when a cargo piece slides off. The silly handicap cards keep the laughs coming.
Kapitän Wackelpudding is a dexterity game for kids and adults where you push a wobbly boat from harbor to harbor. At each port you load cargo, so the boat gets more crowded with every trip. The catch: any cargo that falls off while you push, you have to keep, and the player holding the fewest bits at the end wins. When one island runs out, the game ends. At one of the ports you draw a card that sets a silly handicap, such as using your other hand or closing one eye. It is a funny, wobbly little game that works for gamers as well as for the kids.
