Vibe's take

Cool and calculating. Each action nudges the value of companies, and you spend most of the game working out which move helps you more than your rivals.

About this game

Irish Gauge is a railway stock game played on a map of Ireland, built with wooden cubes as track. On your turn you do one of four things: place a share from one of five companies up for auction, build track for a company, upgrade a town to a city, or call for dividends. You are not the owner of one railroad, you are an investor with shares in several, so you push the companies you hold and quietly hurt the ones you do not. Upgrades and dividends also decide how long the game runs. It is part of a family of cube-rail games from Winsome, so veterans will feel at home, and newcomers get a compact intro.
