A cute memory game where young wizards flip tiles to match Elemons and trade them for Gigamons.
Who it's for
You have kids around five who like memory games and fantasy creatures. A cute, calm choice for short sessions with parents.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want something that challenges older kids or adults. The game is gentle, and memory games get repetitive for grown-ups.
Vibe's take
Gentle and quick. Kids get the thrill of a good match, and the occasional mean twist keeps it from becoming a plain memory game.
Gigamons (La Chasse aux Gigamons) is a memory game for little wizards-in-training, from age five. Nine Elemons tiles lie face down in a three-by-three square, and each player turns over two tiles on their turn. Match the Elemons and you can swap them for a Gigamon, and the player who ends up with the most Gigamons becomes an Elemage. The theme is cute and magical, and a game takes about 15 minutes. Memory skills do most of the work, with a few take-that moments to keep it lively. It is a friendly way for kids to practice concentration and for adults to be reminded how good five-year-olds can be at remembering.
