An alien speaks only in pictograms, and it is up to you to figure out what it actually wants.
Who it's for
Groups who enjoy Codenames-style deduction but want a competitive, sci-fi twist with a genuine winner each round.
Not for you ifβ¦
You prefer purely cooperative party games, because here someone is quietly rooting for the invasion to succeed.
Vibe's take
clever, quirky, competitive, quick, giggly
First Contact drops a genuine alien into your card game: one player draws abstract pictogram symbols meaning things like alive, round or edible, trying to describe an item from a shared grid without a shred of human language. Everyone else studies the grid, privately guesses which item the alien means, then reveals together. Get it right often enough as earthlings and you stall the invasion; get it right often enough as the alien and you win outright, three correctly identified items and Earth loses this round. It plays fast, it makes you argue about your own logic, and it turns a simple symbol into a genuine puzzle.
