Draft chunky tiles to build the most beautiful feathered serpents.
Who it's for
You like drafting games with a spatial puzzle and have a taste for beautiful components. Good at three.
Not for you if…
You want a lot of direct conflict. The interaction here is mostly about which tiles remain.
Vibe's take
Calm, puzzly and tactile, with a pleasing click when a serpent comes together. Your plans change as the board changes.
In Cóatl you are an Aztec sculptor competing for the title of High Priest, and your masterpiece is a feathered serpent. On your turn you either pick tiles from the central board onto your own board, or use the tiles you have gathered to build one of your Cóatls from a head, a tail and a stretch of body segments. The chunky colorful plastic pieces are a pleasure to handle. Each serpent is a small puzzle with contracts and set-collection goals, and a few once-per-game abilities add a twist. Think of a pretty, medium-light puzzle you can solve at your own pace. A solo mode makes it handy for quiet evenings.
