Build industries and rail links in the Industrial Revolution, with every card forcing a trade-off.
Who it's for
You like heavier economic games and want something less fiddly than Brass: Lancashire. Best with four players and a few hours.
Not for you ifβ¦
You want a quick game or a light evening. It is a serious economic puzzle, and a bad opening can haunt you for the whole session.
Vibe's take
Deliberate, thinky and rewarding. You spend long stretches working out how to squeeze one more point out of a tight position, and the card restriction keeps the puzzle fresh.
Martin Wallace's leaner take on Brass: Lancashire, set in the early Industrial Revolution. You invest in raw materials, factories and the transport links that connect them to markets, and you take out loans when you need cash now. The cards you hold limit what you can do, but here they are color-coded by region rather than tied to specific cities, so your plan stays flexible while still being constrained. It is a heavy-ish economic game that trims the fat of its famous older sibling. Expect a couple of hours of tight, quiet optimization where every pound and every link counts.
